Project: Interior - conversion & refurbishment of a warehouse into a creative workshop for a sound production company
Location: Vienna, Seeböckgasse
Client: Fa. Vienna FX postproduction
Size: 345 m2
Christian Vollnhofer and his company Vienna FX create soundtracks for major film and television productions in Austria. Tatort, Wiener Blut and many other productions get their "sound" here.
Coarse, glossy coated concrete floors, industrial steel spiral stairs next to glass walls and sharp-edged recessed LED lighting fixtures. The heart of the space, the cinema, is placed in the middle as an opaque black box.
In 2020 we were accepted to design the new creative hub for ViennaFX with offices, production rooms and an in-house cinema.
The construction work took place under difficult conditions almost in the midst oft the first corona lockdown.
To implement this, we rummaged through the vintage trunk of architectural clichés and designed an eclectic-postmodern creative loft. Coarse, glossy coated concrete floors, industrial steel spiral stairs next to glass walls and sharp-edged recessed LED lighting fixtures. The cinema is the heart of the space, placed in the center as an opaque black box.
The whole thing came about on a tight budget and at record speed of only four months!
